Carlson Business Center Deemed an Exceptional Industrial Project
Carlson Real Estate Company is pleased to announce Carlson Business Center has been selected as one of the Exceptional Industrial Projects: Beyond the Box by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). This new book includes 20 case studies of the top developments nationwide that best illustrate the market dynamics shaping industrial development.
The case studies included in the book were determined by a panel which evaluated the submissions based on what constitutes an exceptional industrial project in today's market. Some of the categories on the submission were Development Challenges, Zoning/Site Challenges, Design Elements and Lessons Learned.
Carlson Business Center is a 560,000 square foot 8-building industrial complex located within Carlson Center, one of the most prestigious business parks in the Twin Cities. To create an industrial project that would blend in with this community of Class A+ office buildings, Carlson Business Center was designed to have the exterior façade of a two-story office building around the entire perimeter. The truck dock/loading berths and truck maneuvering areas are in the center of the complex, between the buildings, and hidden from the exterior view. Building materials consist of rock-faced colored block, continuous windows, two-tone Dryvit wrapping the front office portion of the buildings help to maintain the high-end image. Architectural details included columns, medallions and prominent cornices.
